Throughout 2008, Acquire Media has been working to modernize the systems providing the NewsEdge offerings on which you have relied for many years. The focus of this huge undertaking has been to enhance your overall customer experience and to develop the products and services you need to support your business into the future.
As you have been informed, our partnership with Thomson (the previous owners of NewsEdge) is coming to an end on March 31, 2009. This means that, as of April 1, 2009, we will no longer be sharing the responsibility for supporting your account with Thomson. Between now and then, we will be finalizing the steps necessary to completely disconnect from Thomson’s Eagan data center.
This process has been ongoing for many months and much of the infrastructure used to supply the NewsEdge products and services has already been moved with great success. On March 14, 2009, we expect to take the final step. We will be re-pointing the DNS names used to access NewsEdge.com and its associated products to our data center in Cedar Knolls, New Jersey. We sincerely expect this will be seamless for our users. To accomplish this move, NewsEdge.com and its associated products will be unavailable from Noon on March 14th until Midnight on March 15th.
As with any change in a production environment, there is the possibility that things will not work as planned. To that end, we are performing this change before the end of our relationship with Thomson to provide a buffer to allow us to recover from issues that may arise. We are also making extra support staff available to answer all questions and to address all issues relating to this move.
